Mid Year Goals Review

We are a little over half way through the year, and this is a great time to check in and do a mid year Goals Review to check if you are on track, and recalibrate, if necessary.

How far have you progressed toward the goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the year? Are you still on track — or have you fallen behind?

No matter where you are in your journey, now is the perfect time to review your goals and assess what you’ve accomplished so far this year. In this review, we are going to reflect on what worked and what didn’t work in the first 6 months, as well as what you want to do more of, and what didn’t work that you want to change.

This mid year Goals review is so important to help you evolve and grow, to ensure that you live consciously and on purpose and that you focus on what you want and who you want to be, rather than continually repeating the same actions and continuing to live the life that you’re currently living, a life by default.

The difference between evolving, growing and achieving your goals and rinsing and repeating the exact same life is conscious and deliberate goal setting and planning.

If you don’t make the effort to review your results and make adjustments, you will never be able to create your ideal life and achieve your goals!

By looking back over the past six months, we can begin to identify what works for us, what doesn’t work, what triggers us , what we need to carry on doing and what we want to change.

To help you, here are a series of questions that you can go through now, at the end of the year, once a month or whenever you’re looking for more direction in your life. You will get a lot more out of your life if you’re conscious about what you’re creating.

These questions have been designed to help you to take time to review the year to date and to plan for the next six months from a clean slate.

1. What did I accomplish in the first half of the year? What were my five greatest achievements?

2. What did I want to accomplish that I did not accomplish? (Do I still want to do this?)

3. What did I say I would do that I didn’t do? (Do I still want to do this?)

4. What is the one thing that I am most proud of over the last 6 months?

5. What were my biggest disappointments?

6. What has given me the most joy/ fulfilment in the last 6 months? (things I want to do more of)

7. What drains me and makes me feel unhappy/ tired/ depressed? (things I want to do less of/ stop completely)

8. What did I learn? – List 3 lessons which will make the most difference if you remember them going forward into the second half of the year

9. What are three personal improvements I have made in the last 6 months?

10. If I could go back and do it again, what 3 things would I do differently?

11. What was the best decision I made in the last 6 months and why?

12. Who or what had the greatest/ best influence on me in the first half of the year?

1. What three things do I need to let go of/ do less of or stop doing altogether in the second half of the year? What actions don’t serve me?

2. What three things do I need to do more of in the second half of the year?

3. What excuses do I make to myself to explain/ justify my failures that I need to stop making NOW?

4. What limiting beliefs (beliefs that don’t serve me) do I need to let go of in the next 6 months?

5. What 3 new beliefs do I need to anchor and create affirmations for?

6. Create positive affirmations and visualisations for these new beliefs.

Going forward after your mid year Goals Review

1. What are my personal values? What is most important to me in my life? Do my goals align with this?

2. Do I need to adjust my goals for the next six months?

3. Where is my life out of balance? If I could put one problem behind me, once and for all, what would it be?

4. In what area of my life (eg: career/ health/ finances/ relationships…) do I want to achieve a major breakthrough in the next 6 months?

5. What are my new goals for each area of my life?

6. If I could wave a magic wand and in 6 months time be living my ideal life, what am I doing, who am I doing it with and how does it feel?

7. What 3 action steps do I need to take to achieve my goals in the next six months?

8. Who do I need to spend more time with/ who has a positive impact on my goal achievement?

9. Where and with whom do I need to set boundaries?

10. What help and/or ressources do I need to help me achieve these goals?

Once you have been through all the questions, ask yourself one final simple question:

“What do I want to accomplish and who do I want to be in the coming six months ?

Start with your vision; clearly lay out your life, career, and business vision and then take the steps to make it your reality.
